XVI. - The Tower

The Tower

At the center of the image stands a high tower engulfed in flames, struck by lightning at its peak, knocking off its crown. From the crumbling structure, a figure falls into the abyss. Nearer, we see the houses of a city threatened by a firestorm, and in the chaos, residents desperately try to extinguish the fire. The tower symbolizes pride and greed, which can lead to our downfall in an instant due to an external force (lightning). It can also refer to narrow frameworks from which only dramatic change can provide escape.
